Atorec ASP Capsule is a combination of blood thinners and cholesterol lowering agents. It is mainly used to prevent heart attack and stroke. Atorec ASP Capsule also reduces elevated bad cholesterol levels (especially in people at high risk for heart disease). A heart attack is caused by a blockage of the arteries that supply blood to the heart. This blockage is usually caused by a buildup of fat, cholesterol, and other substances in the arteries that supply the heart (the coronary arteries).
Usage instructions-
- Make sure you take Atorec ASP Capsule in the amount and for as long as your doctor tells you to. You can have this medicine with food.
How it works-
Atorvastatin helps prevent heart attack and stroke by blocking an enzyme in the body that produces cholesterol. It lowers LDL cholesterol, triglycerides and raises HDL cholesterol. Aspirin is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) that has anti-platelet activity. It stops the platelets from clumping together and reduces the risk of blood clots.
Safety information-
Pregnancy
Atorec ASP Capsule is unsafe during pregnancy since there is clear evidence that it poses harm to the unborn child. Please consult your physician.
Breastfeeding
It is probably not safe to breastfeed while taking Atorec ASP Capsule. There is limited human data suggesting that the drug may enter breast milk and cause harm to the baby.
Alcohol
It is unsafe to take alcohol with Atorec ASP Capsule.
Driving
Atorec ASP Capsule may cause blurred vision, drowsiness, or decreased attentiveness. If you have these symptoms, don't drive.
Kidney

Liver
Atorec ASP Capsule should be administered with caution to patients with liver disease. Dose adjustments may be necessary. Please consult to your physician.
Atorvastatin and aspirin are the two medications that make up Atorec ASP Capsule. A lipid-lowering drug called atorvastatin inhibits the enzyme needed the body to produce cholesterol. It lowers levels of triglycerides (TG), low density lipoproteins (LDL), and raises levels of high density lipoproteins (HDL), which are both healthy forms of cholesterol. Aspirin also prevents the formation of blood clots in the arteries. Together, the Atorec ASP Capsule reduces the risk of future heart attacks and strokes.
