Gliptagreat M 500 Tablet is a combination of two drugs that control high blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This helps in preventing serious complications of diabetes such as blindness and kidney damage and may lower your chances of having a stroke or heart attack.
Your doctor can prescribe Gliptagreat M 500 Tablet alone or along with other diabetes medications. You should take this medicine with food to lower the chances of developing an upset stomach.
The common side effects of this medicine include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, upset stomach, and sore throat. If you are taking other diabetes medications, such as insulin or sulphonylurea, you may experience low blood sugar levels.
This medication is not appropriate for everyone. Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney, liver, or heart disease, pancreas problems, or if you consume a lot of alcohol. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should also consult their doctor before taking this medication. You should avoid drinking alcohol because it lowers blood glucose levels. Before and during treatment, your doctor will monitor your kidney function and blood sugar levels.

How It Works
Gliptagreat M 500 Tablet contains two antidiabetic drugs, metformin and vildagliptin. Metformin is an anti-diabetic drug that works by decreasing the production of glucose in the liver, delaying the absorption of glucose from the intestines, and increasing the body’s sensitivity to insulin. Vildagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that works by increasing pancreatic insulin release and reducing the hormones that increase blood sugar levels.
