Ozovas F Tablet belongs to the antilipemic (lipid-lowering) pharmaceutical class, which is primarily used in the treatment of high lipid levels (cholesterol and triglyceride levels) as well as the prevention of heart disease and blood vessel blockage. Hyperlipidemia, also known as hypertriglyceridemia, is characterized by a high amount of low-density lipoproteins (LDL), or bad cholesterol, and a low level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or good cholesterol. Increased levels of poor cholesterol increase the risk of future heart attacks and strokes, especially in people with heart disease.

How it works-

Ozovas F Tablet is made up of two medications: Atorvastatin (an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor) and Fenofibrate (a fibrate). Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medicine that inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which is essential for the body to produce cholesterol. As a result, it reduces bad cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins or LDL) and triglycerides (TG) while increasing good cholesterol (high-density lipoproteins or HDL). Fenofibrate is another lipid-lowering drug that works by enhancing the natural component (lipoprotein lipase) in the circulation that breaks down fats, increasing their usage and elimination. As a consequence, it lowers dangerous cholesterol levels such as LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides (TG) while increasing HDL (good cholesterol).
