How It Works-

Triobimet 2 Tablet ER contains three diabetes medications: glimepiride, metformin, and pioglitazone. They function through many methods to improve blood sugar control when single or dual treatment is ineffective. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that lowers blood glucose by increasing the amount of insulin generated by the pancreas. Metformin is classified as a biguanide. It works by decreasing glucose synthesis in the liver, slowing glucose absorption from the intestine, and boosting insulin sensitivity in the body. Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione that improves insulin sensitivity.
